Obituary for Joseph F. Norman

Joseph F. Norman, age 61, died surrounded by his family at Aultman Hospital on Thursday, May 3rd. He was welcomed into heaven by God, his parents, George and Sophia Norman, his sister, Regina, and sister-in-law, Kathie.

Joe was born in Canton, Ohio, on December 14th, 1956. He attended St. Mary’s School and was a member of Canton South High School Class of 1974. He graduated from The Ohio State University. He was employed by the City of Canton Environmental Protection Agency until he retired on disability and then was able to be a stay at home dad with his kids. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his special granddaughters, going out to eat with his wife, being outdoors, watching the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers, and listening to music. He’ll be remembered for his quick-witted puns, hilarious stories, and great life questions and advice.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sue Norman, his four children, Reva Hurless (Adam, Rayni Sue), Laura Poulson (Jon, Elsie Jo), Kyle Norman, and Marley Norman (Justin), his siblings, Tosh Norman (Diana), Chip Norman (Sue), Debbie Pfeffer (Frank), George Norman, Mary Bowman (Scot), and Tommy Norman (Liz), his in-laws, Thomas and Rose Bachman, Steve Bachman (Sandi), Barb Coy (Tim), John Bachman (Rhonda), his special friend, Matt Wade, and special nephew, Seth Norman, as well as many other close family members and countless friends. ¬

At Joe’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you listen to your favorite song at a high volume and remember the good times with Joe. And recycle.
