Charles Blackstone, age 60, died Wednesday after a six month battle with cancer. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he had lived in Canton most of his life. Charles was a 1975 graduate of Canton South High School, graduate of Akron University and was still working at Mercy Medical Center for over 42 years where he participated in medical missions. He was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and the Choir Director for over 30 years. Charles studied and his passion was music. He was a keyboard player for "Master Plan" and did Christian outreach in the Ukraine. Survived by his mother, Norma Jean Marshall of Canton, sister, Lisa Blackstone of Columbus, his rescue dog, Eddie and many close friends. Preceded in death by his brother, Richard Blackstone. Friends may call Saturday from 12-1 p.m. at the Reedurban Presbyterian Church followed by a service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Shetzer officiating. Private burial will be in Union Cemetery in Louisville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Reedurban Presbyterian Church.
