Agnes Looby

Agnes A. Looby Age 83, of Canton, passed away Friday Feb. 23, 2018. She was born Oct. 13, 1934 in Canton, a daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Dan) Tolin, and was a life resident. Agnes was a 1952 graduate of Lehman High School and a 1974 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing. Her first job out of nursing school was at Mercy Medical Center mostly in the Surgical Dept. which she really enjoyed. After that she worked at St Luke Lutheran Community, did private duty nursing and also worked for Dr. Charles Smith. Agnes was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert J. Looby, on April 6, 1991. Agnes is survived by two daughters and two sons, Nancy (Burke) Davis, Debbie (Gregory) Gillis, Michael (Ann) Looby, and Patrick (Mary Rowe) Looby; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church with The Very Reverend John E. Sheridan, STL as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
