Alice R. Kennedy

September 24, 1932 — June 24, 2016

Alice R. Kennedy, age 83, died peacefully on Friday at the Compassionate Care Center in Canton after a recent illness. Born in Dayton, she lived most of her life in the Canton/North Canton area. A loving homemaker, she worked later in life at Martin's Stationers, Finefrock Furniture, and retired from Wayside Furniture. She is preceded in death by her brothers Pat and Eugene O'Neill and her sister Betty Ann Mylett. Alice is survived by her loving husband, Richard Kennedy; step-son Rick Kennedy; sons Bill (Danita) Burrow, Bruce (Valerie) Burrow, Brian (Julie) Burrow, and daughter Suzie (David) Kessler; grandchildren Nicole (David) Haag, Stephanie (Derek) Burrow, Tara (Glen) Weissert, Natalie (Jason) Kiko, Andy Burrow, Graham (Jennifer) Burrow, Chad Burrow, Hillary Kessler, Allison Kessler, and Amanda Kessler; great grandchildren Decker and Romy Haag and Ross Weissert; sisters Mary Pat Blubaugh and Rosalie (Gerry) Helline; daughter–in-law Connie Burrow; first husband William D. Burrow; many nieces and nephews. Alice will be remembered for an unwavering devotion and love for her family, positive outlook on life, and taking comfort in prayer through her Catholic faith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, 627 McKinley Ave NW, Canton, OH 44703. The family wants to express deep gratitude for the wonderful care at Compassionate Care Center.
