Ann McFadden-Granata, 59, was an extraordinary human being. She passed away on August 15, due to complications from a sudden illness. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, Ann was the 11th child, preceded in death of Vincent and Florence McFadden. Graduating from Louisville Sr. High in Louisville, Ohio, Ann went to Tampa where she then met her soulmate and married Joseph Granata in 1990 and had two beautiful daughters. The family always said that she brought the weather with her, bringing good weather by force of her sunny personality. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Undaunted, She became a cancer survivor, going on to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a Chef. She graduated at the top of her class from a Culinary Institute in New Jersey. After working as a chef in Atlantic City, she and her family moved to Florida where she became a chef at Margaritaville, Orlando. She also
worked at Disney's Animal Kingdom. She passed away surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her husband of 31 years, Joseph Granata, two daughters: Carina, married to Patrick Gotschall, and Angelina, married to Matthew. She also has one beloved grandson, Finnegan, with another grandson on the way, Malakai, and ten surviving brothers and sisters: Frank, Vincent, Florence, Angel, Margaret, Mary, Katie, Timothy, Monica and David, with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews plus numerous cousins, in-laws and friends whose lives were all deeply touched by her kindness and joy in life. Even in passing, she donated the gift of sight with her beautiful blue eyes. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with The Very Reverend John Sheridan, STL-Rector as celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
