Ann Gibbons Seanor, passed away January 10, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. She was born July 3, 1924 to the late Edward T. and Grace A. Gibbons in Canton, Ohio. She was a member of St.Pauls Roman Catholic Church in North Canton. She attended St. Peters Grade School and Mt. Marie Academy in Canton and graduated from St Mary's of the Woods College, Terre Haute, Indiana with a degree in Education. She taught Mathematics and Science at Canal Fulton High School. Ann was very active in the community doing volunteer work with the Players Guild of Canton, Canton Symphony League, Cultural Center for the Arts, North Canton Heritage Society, Girl Scouts, Senior Citizens Center, Stark County Guidance Center, Boy Scouts, Philomatheon Society, Canton City Schools, and St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Junior League of Canton and was 1983 Junior League Woman of the Year, a founding member and president of the Timken Mercy Service League, president of the Canton Garden Club, president of the College Club of Canton, and served on the boards of the Catholic Community League, Canton YWCA, Walsh University Women's Committee and the Red Cross, In1993 she was named Hoover Historical Center Volunteer of the Year. Ann is survived by her husband George W. Seanor, daughter and son–in-law Pam and Jim Underwood of Chagrin Falls, son and daughter-in-law George D and Pat Seanor of Canton, daughter and son-in-law Sue and Steve Roberts of Louisville, granddaughter Julia Roberts, and grandson Michael Roberts of Louisville, sister Mary Gibbons of Clinton, sister and brother-in-law Sheila and Richard Farmer of Clinton, Tom, Sandy, Tim and Jeff Turner of Canton, nieces and nephews Karen Wurzel, Ed and Maureen Schirack, Denise and Kevin Barry, Cindy and Mark Samolczyk, Frank and Becky Schirack, Shelle and Rick Suarez, Kristin and Dave Bair, Jennifer and Mattias Olsson, plus numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Jane and Frank Schirack. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in North Canton with Father Daniel Finnerty as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walsh University Ann and George Seanor Scholarship Fund or St. Paul's Catholic Church.
