Ann M. Tompkins

Ann M. Tompkins went home to be with her Lord on April 8, 2025. She was born in Galion, Ohio on January 15, 1959.

Ann graduated from Galion High School in 1977. She attended both Otterbein and Lake Erie College, graduating from Lake Erie in 1981. After graduation, Ann moved to Canton, OH to join Nationwide Insurance. In Canton she met the love of her life, Daniel Tompkins, they were married in 1989. Ann became an LPN in 1998 to work with people in home health care. After Canton the couple lived in Dearborn, MI; Findlay, OH; and Lewiston, NY. After 25 years in Lewiston, they moved back to Canton in 2023.

Ann had a generous heart. She was devoted to her husband, family, 4-footed companions, and her friends.

Ann enjoyed riding horses, taking walks, puzzles, reading, talking with friends and family, and listening to music. Wherever she lived, Ann was active in her church. While in Lewiston, Ann volunteered with Red Cross Blood Drives and for ten years delivered Home Delivered Meals. Ann enjoyed traveling with Dan, including U.S. road trips; an Alaskan cruise; and adventures to England, Chile, Luxemburg, and Germany.

Ann joins her mother, Lee Coryell Harmon and brother, Craig Harmon, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Daniel Tompkins; father, George C. Harmon; brother, J. Scott (Gayten) Harmon; sister, Lynn (Jeff) Morton; nieces and nephews, Kirsten (Ron) Krock, Elizabeth (Brent) Markham, Rebecca (Dan) Layman, Jonathan Harmon, and Andrew Morton. Ann's passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Visitation for Family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 5155 Eastlake Street, North Canton, where the Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM. Reverend Dr. Michael Smith will serve as officiant. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, 1295 Fairview Avenue, Galion, Ohio, on April 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
