ANTHONY PLOUCHA
   
  
Anthony Nicholas Ploucha, age 22, of North Canton, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, surrounded by his loving family. Anthony fought a four-year courageous battle against a rare form of bone cancer. He endured multiple surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, radiation treatments, and clinical trials. Anthony didn't complain and never stopped fighting this awful disease! He can finally rest now and join his mother in Heaven.
   
  
Anthony was born on October 26, 2001, to Beth (nee Raucci) and Tony Ploucha. Anthony will be greatly missed by his heartbroken father, Tony; his beloved sister, Sophia; his grandparents, Ruth Raucci and Nick Nitzu; his aunts, Ronda Raucci, Karen Lazar, Renee Raucci, and Erin Ploucha; uncles Michael, Patrick, and James Ploucha; as well as cousins Haley and Connor Ploucha, Lola Lazar, and Austin Mahoney.
   
  
Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Beth Ploucha; his grandfather, Ronald Raucci; and grandparents, George and Maureen Ploucha.
   
  
Anthony was a 2020 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School where he excelled both academically, and on the Speech & Debate stage. Anthony was a Civil Engineering student at the University of Akron and attended classes while going through his various cancer treatments. Anthony loved family trips, spending time with his family, video games, and studying history.
   
  
The family welcomes relatives and friends to calling hours at Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm. Family and friends are also welcome to attend Anthony's Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday September 24 at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 241 S. Main St., North Canton.
   
  
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation checks be addressed to Hoover High School Speech and Debate and sent to 525 7th Street, North Canton, OH 44720.
   
  
The family would like to thank the McCourt family, friends, the Cleveland Clinic, and Superior Beverage for the unwavering love and support they provided throughout Anthony's fight.
