Arlene Kathryn (Kuntz) Kessler, 95, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019. Born to the late Elmer and Mildred (Stephan) Kuntz. She was a 1941 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. She worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Canton, Ohio and San Francisco, California during World War II. She was a former member of Saint Paul Catholic Church (Canton) and a current member of Christ the Servant Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Greeter. She was a former volunteer for Hospice following her husband's death. Arlene was an avid gardener, a beautiful seamstress and an excellent euchre card player. She walked almost every day and her favorite line when someone asked how you stay so healthy, she'd answer "Keep Moving." She represented Canton, Ohio winning the title of Mrs. Canton 1948. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert, daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Dan Gay, grandson, Brian Kessler, sisters, Miriam Eckenweiler and Marguarite Kessler and brothers, Elmer and Randall Kuntz. Survived by a daughter, Karen (James) Peterman of Union, Kentucky, sons, Robert (Debra) Kessler of North Canton and Daniel (Deborah) Kessler of Louisville, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters, Betty Burse and Velma McDonald and sister-in-law, Eilene Kuntz. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Christ the Servant Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial with Monsignor Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aultman Hospice.
