Barbara A. Defrank

Barbara A. DeFrank, 91, passed away on May 10, 2022. She was born on September 29, 1930, in Dunkard Township, Greene County, PA, to Marshall and Pauline (nee Wilson) Metheny, clerked in a coal mine company store after high school, and married Anthony DeFrank on August 5, 1950. The couple's only child, Susan, was born in 1957, and a few years later the family moved to Canton, Ohio, to find a more prosperous life. Barbara was a teller at Harter Bank, and later worked at O'Neil's and other department stores. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and watching Hollywood classics, and had a flair for baking, home décor, and flower arranging. Barb always put family first, and was a generous and caring mother and grandmother. Predeceased by her parents, sister Gloria Rhodes, half-brother Warden Metheny, son-in-law Steven Korte, and Tony, her husband of 34 years, she leaves behind daughter and grandchildren Susan, Lily, and Wilson Korte, nephew Emerson Rhodes and his wife and daughter Nancy and Lauren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A private service is planned.
