Barbara Jean (Bogdan) Kast, age 86, of Louisville passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, February 25th. She was born in Jackson, Michigan where she was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's High School. After high school, she attended Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Barbara had been a Louisville resident most of her life and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband Cletus J. Kast II.
She is survived by six sons — Cletus (Carol) Kast III of Ontario, Ohio; Mark (Denise) Kast of Jackson Twp.; Michael Kast of Louisville; James (Caroline) Kast of Alliance; Robert Kast of Louisville; and William (Amy) Kast of Hilliard, Ohio. She also has three daughters — Sue Kast of Louisville; Carole (Peter) Brannan of Dallas, Texas; and Jeanne (David) Pereira de Almeida of Cary North Carolina. In addition, she is survived by twenty-one grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother Gerald (Diane) Bogdan of Jackson, Michigan; and her cousin Dolores and (Frank) Kinn of Fostoria, Ohio.
Family and friends will meet on Thursday at 11am in St. Louis Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Robert Miller as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 5-7pm at the Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton.
