Barbara C. Vasbinder

Barbara Burt Vasbinder, 83, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Benjamin Russell Burt and Mary Elizabeth Balough.

Barbara was a devoted educator, earning her B.S. in Education from Ohio State University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, and a master’s degree from Ashland University. She taught students in Bettsville Local School District, Plain Local Schools, and Canton City Schools for over 31 years.

Barbara was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church and supported its mission as a past Elder, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and organizing family worship at Camp Wakonda.

Barbara loved travel, animals of all kinds, and collecting keepsakes. She was passionate about music and singing, receiving professional training at the Carnegie Institute.

Barbara is survived by her four children, Jeffrey, Robert, Eva, and Elizabeth; her eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her brother, Bejamin Russell Burt III. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 40 years, Samuel Holmes Vasbinder and her first husband William John Rolf.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum, 4927 Cleveland Avenue NW, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stark County Humane Society in her memory.
