Brett was a special kind of uncle—the kind whose love was quiet, steady, and unconditional.

Brett Ronald Wright, affectionately known to his family as “Uncle B,” age 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Canton, Ohio, on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Brett was born on April 3, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, to Ronald and Betty Wright. He was the youngest of five children. He is survived by his siblings, Tim Wright (Kim Silvestro), Lori Ueltschy (Steve), and Todd Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Betty Wright, and his beloved older sister, Kim Frasher.

Although Brett never married and did not have children of his own, he never lacked for people to love. His nieces and great-nieces were his family in every sense of the word, and he considered them his own. He was a special kind of uncle—the kind whose love was quiet, steady, and unconditional.

He leaves behind his nieces Brooke Khamis (Mohamed Khamis), Betsy Robinson (Amber Robinson), Kelsie, and Arianna, as well as his great-nieces Sophia Wilt, Nadia Jowers, and Soraya Fasihi, who held a very special place in his heart.

He found joy in the simple things around him, particularly the beauty of the natural world.

Brett was an experienced welder and a very hard worker. He took pride in his work and was someone who could be counted on to put in the effort and get the job done.

Quiet and introspective by nature, Brett had an exceptionally kind and gentle heart. He found joy in the simple things around him, particularly the beauty of the natural world. He could often be found outside, looking up at the sky and watching the clouds drift by, birds flying overhead, planes passing in the distance, or the stars appearing at night.

He loved spending time outdoors, whether camping, mountain biking, tending to the gardens in his yard, or simply sitting beside a fire wherever one could be found. Nature wasn't simply something Brett enjoyed—it was something he cared for. He had a tenderness toward living things that was uniquely his.

He fed the squirrels that visited his yard and took special care of the praying mantis that made its home in his garden. He passed that appreciation for nature on to his nieces, teaching them with his characteristic gentleness that even something as small as a bumblebee could be treated with kindness. He would tell them that they could “pet a fuzzy bumblebee.”

That was Brett. He noticed the little things. He made room for the small and fragile things in the world. And in his quiet way, he taught the people he loved to do the same.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, especially the nieces and great-nieces who were so deeply loved by their Uncle B, and in all those who were fortunate enough to know his gentle spirit.

Brett will be cremated through Lamiell Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
