Carol Eckroate

Carol Eckroate, age 72, died Wednesday. She was a life resident of Canton, 1967 graduate of Lehman High School, 1972 graduate of Kent State University, had worked for Stark County Developmental Disabilities for 35 years and then worked for the North Canton City Schools and was a member of Christ the Servant Parish. Carol's calling in life was teaching and she felt blessed by her students and their families. Survived by her son, Matthew Eckroate (Justine), sister, Joyce (Michael) Nelson, brother, Steve Alexander, nieces, Alycia Gilger and Sarah Sosinski, nephew, Joshua Sosinski (Emily) and great nephew (little buddy), Lucas Gilger. Preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Eckroate. Family and friends will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Christ the Servant Parish with Monsignor Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
