CAROLE JEAN MIDAY
At 95 years old, Carole Jean Miday completed her long and beautiful journey on this earth, March 24, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored her and a lifetime of memories shaped by kindness, faith, and quiet resilience.
Born in Dover, Ohio, she lived in New Philadelphia, until she moved to Canton more than 60 years ago, building a life rooted in love and service. She spent 30 years working at Diebold, where she formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside her.
Her heart belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful member for over 60 years. Her devotion to her church was not just something she practiced on Sundays — it was woven into the way she lived, cared, and treated others.
To her family, she was everything and they were her greatest joy. She was the best mother in the world — steady, loving, patient, and endlessly supportive. Her love was the kind that made you feel safe, seen, and cherished. Her presence will be missed beyond measure, but her love will remain forever.
Her grandchildren were her greatest delight. Each one held a unique place in her heart, and she made sure they felt it. She carved out time—real, intentional time—to sit with them, listen to them, laugh with them, and make memories with them. She loved flowers—their colors, their fragrance, their delicate beauty. Tea parties were her way of slowing the world down so she could savor the company of those she loved. She enjoyed travel. Not just to see new places, but to experience life with open eyes, an open heart, and a reminder that the world is wide and wonderful.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan (Eric) Howland and Holly Condo; son, Scott (Georgiane) Condo; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Don Gamble. She is preceded in death and reunited with her husband, Elmer Miday; parents, Harold and Lillian Walton; son, Kenneth Condo; daughter Carolynn Sue Condo; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Martin; granddaughter, Shelley Marshall; grandson, Jason Klein; great-grandson, Henry Williams; sister, Marilyn Hirning; and twin brother, Thomas Walton
Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 909 Tuscarawas Street, E. in Canton on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jeff Goggins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or First Lutheran Church.
