Charles Ernest Fuchs, 98, of North Canton, Ohio, left this world in peace, surrounded by loved ones, on June 23, 2026. He was born January 26, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to the late Hans and Marie (Sedelmeier) Fuchs, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Marjorie; daughters, Deborah Oakes, Mary Christine Fuchs; sister, Pearl Frank; brother, Ernest Fuchs; and special companion, Miriam McGrew.
Charles proudly served his country, as a member of the United States Army during World War II. Following his military service, he dedicated his life to his family and friends, leaving a legacy of love, integrity, and devotion.
A devoted father, he is survived by his five daughters, Katie (Mike) Angle, Janet Cordeiro, Victoria (Ray) Fredrick, Charlotte Fuchs, Anne (Robert) Lengfelder; son, Carl (Kim) Fuchs, all of whom were the center of his world. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will cherish his stories, wisdom, and gentle guidance.
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, and consistently placing the needs of others before his own. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan, retired from Goodyear Aerospace, was a former softball player on several teams in Canton, was a member of the German Family Society and St. Paul Catholic Parish. He touched the lives of many with his generosity, warm presence, words of encouragement, listening ear, and a heart ready to serve.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM, St. Paul Catholic Parish. Father Simon Mino will serve as Celebrant. Interment will follow at North Canton Cemetery, North Canton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the German Family Society, 3871 Ranfield Road, Kent, Ohio 44240.
