Clarence G. "Bud" Franey

October 12, 1920 — December 8, 2017

Clarence G. "Bud" Franey, age 97, died Friday. Born in Williamstown, West Virginia, he had lived in Canton since 1940. Bud was retired from Republic Steel Corp., member of Little Flower Catholic Church and was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. Survived by his wife, Josephine "Joey" (Keffler) Franey, sons, Timothy Franey of Winterville, North Carolina and Terence (Brenda) Franey of South Portland, Maine, grandchildren, Brigid Smith-Franey, Tara Lee Franey, Brian Franey and Craig Franey and great-grandsons, Benen Franey and Maddox Smith. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. and Florence C. Franey. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father Leo Wehrlin as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
