Diane Marie Simpson died peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 after a long illness. Born in Hartford, Connecticut to Ellsworth and Annamae Simpson. She was raised in her beloved Bristol, Connecticut alongside of her older brother Alan. In 1969, she graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. She enjoyed fulfilling work as an elementary school teacher during her early career. In Atlanta, Georgia she embarked on twenty years of service to ARCO Oil Company. For the last fifteen years of her career, she found a professional home at the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas where she enjoyed helping many international, graduate business students. She is survived by her brother, Alan (Roxanne) Simpson of Tucson, Arizona. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she is also survived by her only daughter, Kathleen Shea Cochran and two granddaughters, Caitlynn Marie Roberts (Justin) and Kassie Kay Cochran. She will be greatly missed. Family and friends will meet on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in North Canton for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Marian Babjak as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery (Canton). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Saint Vincent DePaul Society or to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
