Donald J. Kobelt, age 96, died Monday. Born in Uhrichsville, he had lived in North Canton most of his life, was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was retired from the Hoover Company after 35 years. Don was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church (North Canton) and an avid gardener. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a receipient of the Bronze Star. Preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Lokie) Kobelt and brothers, Marvin and Robert Kobelt. Survived by a daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Suter of North Canton, sons, Rick (Patricia) Kobelt of Massillon and Mark Kobelt of Canton, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church (North Canton) for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Marian Babjak as celebrant. Entombment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation.
