DONNA MAE WALPOLE

On September 14, 2024, the "Angel of Cairo" received her heavenly wings. Donna M. Walpole of North Canton peacefully passed away at Bethany Nursing Home.

Donna was born August 27, 1927, in East Sparta, Ohio, the daughter of Earl G. and Mary Deetz Halter. She graduated from East Sparta High School and Aultman School of Nursing. She dedicated her life to the nursing profession she loved. Donna worked in hospitals, doctors' offices, and retired from Canton City Schools as Head of Nursing Services. But nowhere, was her tender touch felt more lovingly than her family and friends. One act of heroic kindness earned her the title of "Angel of Cairo" and Donna lived up to that title everyday of her life.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cyril F. Walpole. They so loved their home in North Canton and enjoyed raising their four daughters there. Donna is survived by her daughters, Cathleen (Ed) Patterson, Deborah

(Gary) Etling, Bernadette (Tom) Jesko, Therese (George) Gilbert. "Mamaw" has 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who will always remember her infectious laugh, endless energy, and unconditional love and support. She is also survived by her loving sister, Carol (Jim) Toms; sister-in-law, Delores Walpole; and many nieces

and nephews.

Calling hours for Donna will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Lamiell Funeral Home in Canton. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 10:00 am, Little Flower Catholic Church in Canton. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Massillon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Crossroads Hospice in Green, Ohio or Children's Network of Stark County.
