Doris Eileen Lower

"Together Again"

Peacefully the morning of June 5, 2025, Doris Eileen Lower's earthy journey came to a close, as she was welcomed to her eternal home. She was born August 7, 1928 in Canton, Ohio, to parents, Fred Merriman and Thelma (Heckman) Effinger.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lower; mother and stepfather, Thelma and William Effinger; father, Fred Merriman; and brother, Kenneth Merriman.

She was an influence and inspiration to her children who survive; Kathleen (James) Meeks and Kevin (Leann) Lower. She was a loving grandmother to Ashley Meeks (Max Stamey) and Justin Meeks; and a devoted and fun-loving great-grandmother to Brooke Meeks and Ganyon Stamey.

A 1947 graduate of Canton McKinley, she enjoyed reading cards and activity clubs. She was a member of the Daughters of America, Friends of the Library, AARP, and Zion Lutheran Church. Her warm and loving heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a beacon of light to her family, and nothing was more important than making a lifetime of memories with each of them. Doris lived a good, long life and now may she rest in the peace that she so deserves.
