Dr. Woodrow L. "Woody" Lahr, age 74, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday after a brief illness. Born in Hosensack, Pennsylvania, he had lived in the Canton area most of his life. He was a graduate of the Temple University School of Dentistry, the New Jersey College of Medicine and was in private practice as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon until retiring in 2012. Dr. Lahr was an Eagle Boy Scout, member of S.C.D.S. (Past-President), O.D.A., A.D.A., O.S.O.M.S., A.A.O.M.S., Pierre Fauchard Academy, O.S.U. Alumni Association (Honorary), F.O.E. Aerie No. 190, Ducks Unlimited and was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Survived by his wife, Lin (Paxson) Lahr, son, Marc Lahr, daughter, Kristen, sister, Linda (Tom) Vanim, brother, Earl (Wilma) Lahr, sister-in-law, Arlene Paxson, brother-in-law, Paul (Kris) Paxson and his canine companions, Lucy and Midas. Special thank you to Doctors, Michael Markel, Michael Tirmonia and Mike Linz for their care. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Private burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.
