EDWARD JOSEPH "NED" STAUDT, JR.

Edward Joseph "Ned" Staudt Jr., age 94, passed away on December 27, 2023. He was born on August 13, 1929, in Canton, OH and lived there his entire life. He received his bachelor's degree from Villanova University and served as an officer in the U. S. Navy and the Naval Reserve. He retired after a long career in the claims department of CIGNA Insurance, then had a brief career as a realtor before retiring "for good."

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou (Hassmer); his parents, Edward and Beatrice Staudt; brother, Richard Staudt; infant daughter, Christine; and son-in-law, Thomas Creech. He is survived by his siblings, Anne Dowling of Canton, John (Barbara) Staudt of Salem, OH, Lawrence Staudt of Fort Myers Beach, FL, and Elizabeth (George) Barrowman of Columbus; son, Joseph (Beth) Staudt of Green; daughter, Martha Creech of Kent, daughter, Melinda Stanton of Worthington; grandchildren, Adelle (Blain) Smith, Shane Stanton, Annie (Adam Brummett) Creech, Sandra (Alex Valigosky) Creech, Mary Creech, Madalyn Staudt, and Lilia Staudt; and great-grandson, Nolan Smith.

Ned was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and proudly sang in the choir for over 50 years. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, January 5th from 4-7 p.m. at Lamiell Funeral Home. All are also invited for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 6th at 9 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Father Edward Beneleit, as Celebrant.
