EDWARD SWEET


Edward Sweet passed away peacefully at his home in Canton, Ohio on September 1, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on July 15, 1940, in Foundryville, Pennsylvania.


Preceding Edward in death were his parents, Stephen and Mary (Kopczyskie) Sweet; son, John in 1999; brothers, Clement, Steven, and Albert; and sister, Stella.


Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ann Sweet; son, Daniel (Florence) Sweet; grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, and Laura; one great-grandchild; sisters, Patricia James, Bernice Cusate; and brothers, Ted (Vicki) Sweet, Ronnie (Debbie) Sweet.


A true gentleman, Edward was a devoted family man always putting their needs before his own and cherished every moment spent together. Proudly, he served his country in the US Army for 3 years and US Air Force for 4 years. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he enjoyed many hobbies, with his passion being golf. He was involved with the scouting program as Scout Master.


A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM, St. Patrick's Cemetery, 811 Church Street, Galllitzin, Pennsylvania 16641. Father Albert Ledoux will officiate.


Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio, was entrusted with Edward's care and privileged in assisting the family during this tender time.
