Eileen T. (Shockling) Fernandez, age 90, died Tuesday. She was a life resident of Louisville, 1947 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing, was a retired Registered Nurse from Mercy Medical Center and a member of Saint Louis Catholic Church and the Mercy Alumni Nurses Association. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fernandez, parents, John and Laura Shockling, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilmer and Mary Shockling and Robert and Marcella Shockling. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Dan Black of Bellbrook and Julia and Don Samblanet of Louisville, sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Brenda Fernandez of Canal Fulton and Tom and Patty Fernandez of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, seven grandchildren, Lindsay Black, David (Rebecca) Samblanet, Sarah (Derek) Faiello and Mike (Angela), Maria, Laura and Molly Fernandez, four great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild to be born in September. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Louis Catholic Church with burial in Saint Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1530 W.
