Elizabeth "Betty" (Evans) Heflin, age 83, died Sunday. Born in Cleveland, she lived in Canton most of her life, raised at Fairmount Children's Home, graduate of Alliance High School, worked at Kozy Kitchen as a cook, member of the Canton Salvation Army Senior Group and was an avid Ohio sports fan. Survived by children, Dennis (Deborah) Heflin of Barberton, Victoria (John) Sparrow and Doris (Darrell) Wenning of Canton, five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister, Evelyn Eagan of Tacoma, Washington, many nieces and nephews and former husband, Dale "Dick" Heflin. Preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Majors Lawrence and JoAnn Shade officiating. Burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Lamiell Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.
