Elizabeth "Betty" Claire (Allen) Schaffner

Elizabeth (Betty) Claire (Allen) Schaffner, age 68, beloved sister and mother, passed away at her home on December 5th in North Canton, Ohio from COVID-19 complications. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward Allen and Rita (Murphy) Allen, Betty grew up in Louisville, Ohio where she attended St. Louis Grade School and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She obtained her nursing degree from Stark State College and an MA in Management from Malone College. Betty was devoted to her children and her career as a nurse. She had a huge heart and always a kind word for everyone. Her compassion for others was truly incredible. She was known for going the extra mile for her patients and loved what she did. It brought her joy to make a difference in people's lives. She is survived by her son Christopher Schaffner of Canton, Ohio, daughter Ilse Schaffner of North Canton, Ohio, sisters Mary Dieringer of Knoxville, Tennessee and Margaret Allen of Cranston, Rhode Island, and brothers Patrick (Deena) Allen of Cody, Wyoming and Tony Allen of Savannah, Georgia. She will be dearly missed by her loving nieces and nephews, Jessica (Colton, Ethan, Asher), Bridget (Tamas), Amanda, Molly (David, Clementine, Enoch), Thor (Kris, Wyatt, Ryder). Betty also leaves behind Coco, her beloved grand dog and her precious grandkittens Maia and Molly. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
