ELIZABETH A. "LIZ" WATTERS

Elizabeth A. "Liz" Watters, 82, of Perry Township passed away at her home

on December 25, 2022. She was born August 1, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to

the late Norman and Margaret Rita (Bartko) Walsh. Liz graduated from Saint

Joseph Academy in Cleveland in 1958 and attended John Carroll University.

Liz and her husband Thomas enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage, raising two

sons with a solid and strong family foundation. She was employed by the

Perry Local School district for thirty-six years, retiring in 2011 having worked

at Perry High School and Pfeiffer Intermediate School. Liz also worked many

years for the AAA of Canton and Massillon. She was a member of St. Joan of

Arc Catholic Church and a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and the

Cleveland Browns, watching their games at every opportunity.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her son, Kevin

Watters of Jackson Township and her sister, Margaret Daniels of Allison Park,

Pennsylvania.

Liz is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Watters, son Matthew (Shawn)

Watters of North Canton, daughter in-law Heidi Watters of Jackson Township,

grandchildren Erin and Paige, Emily and Michael, brother in-law Michael

Daniels of Allison Park, brother Jack (Patti) Walsh of Cleveland, sisters Nancy

(Jerry) Lukanc of Wickliffe and Mary Jo (Kim) Mahall of Bay Village, sister in-

law Mary Watters of Canton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on

Friday, December 30 at 10 AM, with Reverend Donald King as the celebrant.

Calling hours will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 8:30-10 AM.

Private entombment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Lung

Association or Saint Joseph Academy.
