Ernest "Ernie" Hunyadi

Ernest "Ernie" Hunyadi, 84, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, Dec. 16. Born in Akron to Croatian parents, he resided in N Canton. He spent his career as a sheet metal worker and was a retired member of Local Union No. 33. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the F.O.E. and St. Paul Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Magdaline, brother Louis, and wife of 48 years, Arline, he is survived by his sister Wilma (Dallas) Gibson of Akron, sister-in-law, Veronica Hunyadi of Akron and multiple nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Friday from 12-12:30 p.m. followed by a service at 12:30 p.m. at Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton, with Father Thomas Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
