Frances G. Black

Frances G. Black, 89, of Cable passed away in Aultman Compassion Care Center, Canton, Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born February 3, 1929 in Urbana, the daughter of Phillip and Eva Gifford. She was a caring mother of five who valued education, was a substitute teacher and never missed her Jeopardy challenges. She loved dogs, cats, watching and feeding her birds, and collected hundreds of owls. Proceeded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert E. Black and sister Donna (Ken) Kessler; she is survived by her brother Phillip (Evalee) Gifford of Grand Junction, Colorado; her daughter, Alice Black of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; her sons Alan (Carol) Black of Colfax, Washington, Andy (Kathy) Black of Canton, Ohio, Howard (Marcie) Black of Holland, Ohio, and Phil (Candy) Black of Mogadore, Ohio: her 11 grandchildren Alison, Kathleen, Carolyn, Jillian, Larry, Jacqueline, John, Tabitha, Audrey, Tori, and Austin: and her 6 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all of her home care givers and the staff of Aultman Compassionate Care Center for the wonderful care and support given to Frances and her family. A private grave side service will be held at a future date.
