Franklin L. Nobis

March 16, 1933 — August 17, 2022

Franklin L. Nobis passed away in his Canton home on August 17, 2022. He was born/raised in Canton, Ohio to Ralph George Nobis Sr. and Helen E. (Bender) Nobis on March 16, 1933. He was also a part time resident of Vero Beach, Florida. He is survived by three daughters, Karen Cook, Linda (Ed) Kuvlesky and Cheryl Larkins, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Dorothy Nobis, Mary Little Allman, E. Jean Donato, Thelma Andrews, Ralph and Don Nobis, his daughter Lori Nobis, his great granddaughter Isis Wenk and his longtime partner Jo Eckley. Frank was a 1952 alumnus of Timken Vocational High School, U.S. Army veteran, a member of the UAW and Canton McKinley Eagles #2370. He was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed farming, dancing and singing in the Poinciana Barbershop Choir in Vero Beach. He had a lifelong passion for cars including: mechanical repair, auto racing and showing his '49 Ford Custom sedan at classic car shows. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after many years of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 2, 2022 at 9 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 2427 West Tuscarawas Street in Canton with Fr. Brian Cline as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. An after service meal is being planned for family and friends to gather. Please R.S.V.P. to fnobis332@aol.com in order to estimate attendance.
