Gene William Miller, age 88, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Gene attended Marlboro High School and was a graduate of American Technical Institute (forerunner of Stark State University) as an Engineering Technician. He was a Korean War Army veteran having served with an artillery unit and fought for a year. Gene was a retired employee of the Hoover Company and for 21 years worked in Process Engineering. In 1988 he started his own business as Micro-Master Controls. A man of many talents, he built his own house and tractor over the years as well as doing consulting, programming and automation control systems for Micro-Master. Gene was a member of Swing-A-Lings Square and Round Dance Club of Canton. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Katherine (Moegling), two daughters, Karen (Andy) Evans of Uniontown and Cynthia (Bill) Marshall of Frazeysburg, three sons, David of Phoenix, Arizona, Tom (Diane Jordy) of Columbus and Brian (Michelle Stacy) of Hudson, four grandsons, Mitchell Hadden of Lakewood, Eric Hadden of Canton and Jason and Jack Miller of Hudson and a brother, Paul (Barbara) of North Canton. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Viola (Stantz) Miller and a brother, Walter F. Miller. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Saint Peter Catholic Church with the Very Reverend John Sheridan, STL as celebrant. Burial will be in Warstler Cemetery.
