George M. Sifft

George M. Sifft age 70 passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2022. He was born in Canton on December 15, 1951 to George Sifft and Pauline J. Sifft. George was a graduate of St Thomas Aquinas High School and the University of Akron. George was an accomplished athlete from a young age. He was a local youth baseball star and continued his passion for sports and competition throughout his life. George was a PGA member, an unbelievable golfer, and could often be found at the Skyland Pines golf course. George was a successful businessman, providing accounting and tax services for businesses and individuals. His love of music was ever present, and it was rare that his favorite music wasn't playing. George's love of life and commitment to his friends and loved ones was a light to all. He was a patient listener and was kind, loyal, and giving to the end. George will be missed by all of those lucky enough to know him. George is survived by his mother Pauline, his sister Josie, his daughter Lindsey, his granddaughters Eliana and Abigail, and the love of his life Peggy Skakun. He was preceded in death by his father, George. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist for Masses in memory of George.
