Grace E. (Wolfe) Hammond, 91, of Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024.
   
  
Grace was born on February 23, 1932, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Ralph A. Wolfe and Edythe (Treado) Wolfe. She grew up in Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She married fellow Michigan alumni, Charles Hammond, in 1953 and raised her family in Sarver, PA, and Alliance, OH. Grace returned to nursing in later years working in the delivery room and nursery departments at Alliance Community Hospital and Timken Mercy Hospital in Canton, OH. In 1992 she and Charles retired and moved to Amelia Island, Florida and then to Huntley, Illinois in 2003. After Charles passed away in 2021, Grace moved to Canton, Ohio to be near family.
   
  
Grace was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles, to whom she was married for 67 years. She is survived by six children; Holly (Tim) Maloney, Tim (Cindy) Hammond, Dr. Robert (Lisa) Hammond, Karen (Barry) Driks, Christopher (Lynette) Hammond, and Tom (Jennifer) Hammond; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Martin; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her beloved cats, Roxanne and Annabelle.
   
  
Grace was an artist and excelled in watercolor paintings, many of which adorn the walls of her family's homes. She is a published illustrator, creating original watercolors for the book "What Does Gracie See?" Later in life, Grace took up quilting, creating many beautiful quilts for family members and valor quilts for veterans. Grace was also an animal lover. She especially loved black cats.
