Helen M. (Samblanet) McDonald: 92, July 3, 1930 to June 11, 2023
Born to the late Austin & Florence (Frank) Samblanet, Helen was a graduate of Louisville High School and an adult life resident of Canton. She was the office manager & bookkeeper for McDonald Plumbing and Heating and retired after 38 years of service. She was also a housewife and a devoted wife & mother, and from that she never retired. She was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist.
Survived by her four sons, Scott (Tricia) McDonald of San Carlos, CA, Steven McDonald & Hugh McDonald both of Canton and Charles A. (Maria) McDonald of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Two daughters, Charlene (Rick) McDonald-Emerine of Boynton Beach, FL and Shelly (Harold) Lewis of Hartville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Theresa McCauley & Marty Pfabe both of Louisville. Preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Charles W. McDonald; her parents; 6 brothers, Bernard, Alfred, Howard, John, Jim & Bill Samblanet; and 5 sisters, Thelma Fladung, Mary Bahl, Faye Pitts, Anna Mae McCormick & Doris Martelet. Helen enjoyed spending time with and entertaining her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and close friends.
We would like to thank the staff from Crossroads for the compassionate care they provided Helen.
The family will receive guests, Thursday June 29th at 10:00 am at Lamiell Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11:30 am at Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, and burial at St. John's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to Sancta Clara Monastery, Canton, OH.
