Herbert E. Jestel, age 89, died Tuesday after a short illness. Born in Dover he had lived in the Stark County area most of his life. Herb was a 1945 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, graduate of the Dental Division of Elkhart Business College and was the retired owner of Jestel Dental Lab. He was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, Louisville Council No. 2530 K. of C., the Pymatuning Yacht Club, Lightning Class Association, U.S. Sailing and was a World War II Army veteran. Survived by his wife, Joan (Brannen) Jestel, children, Margaret Beagle, William (Jennifer) Jestel and John (Linda) Jestel, two grandchildren, sister, Mary Alice Miller and brother, David (Beverly) Jestel. Family and friends will meet on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist for a Mass of Christian Burial with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist.
