Howard A. Morris passed away peacefully on Nov 28, 2021at his home following a brief illness. He was born on May 19, 1937 in Clio Alabama to the late Thomas and Bertha Lee Morris. Howard was also affectionately known as "Sleepy" to friends and "Uncle Howard" to all children within the family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved gardening and keeping the environment in his community clean and safe. He was an avid reader of African American literature and studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved jazz music and he loved people. Everyone that met him cared about him because of the way he treated them. He will truly be missed by all. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brother Hiawatha Morris, and two nephews Ervin Sheeler Jr. and Clarence Holcombe II. He leaves to cherish his memory: two loving sisters, Rosa Holcmbe and Annie Baskerville; two nephews, Anthony Allen and Gibran Baskerville and two nieces; Dimtri (Kelvin) Miles and Adimu Holcombe, all of Canton, Ohio; Special friend Bruce Carter of Columbus, Ohio and a host of Aunts, Uncles, great nieces and nephews, relatives, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday Dec 3, 2021at 2:00 pm at Lamiell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service. Masks Required.
