Jack D. Stover, age 81, of Lake Cable, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School, graduate of Georgia Tech University, and retired from the Timken Company after 42 years of service as a research engineer. Jack was a member of ASTM, ASME, Canton JCI Senators, Phi Kappa Tau, and a United States Navy veteran. Jack enjoyed golf (4 holes in one), genealogy, family vacations, and jigsaw puzzles. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen "Nutzi" Stover, son, Todd (Shelly) Stover of Canal Fulton, daughters, Beth (Todd) Shaffer of Canton and Amy (Michael) Zelle of Massillon, grandchildren, Kyle and Lauren Stover, Jamie Durishin, Serena Thomas, Hayden and Wyatt Zelle, and brother-in-law, Ronald Dougherty of Canton. Preceded in death by his parents Grayce and HD Stover, and sister, Carole Dougherty. Friends may call Saturday from 3-5 p.m. followed by a service at 5 p.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Al Dangelo officiating. Private burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
