James D. Krammes, age 66, died Monday after a sudden heart attack. He was a life resident of Canton, 1968 graduate of Lehman High School and a 1972 graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering. Jim retired in 2010 as the president of Power Systems Development. He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where he played drums in the ensemble and was a member of the BMW of America Car Club Northeast Ohio Chapter. Jim enjoyed racing, playing tennis and his grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Ellen (Goodman) Krammes of the home, daughter, Sarah Krammes of Green, son, Lucas Krammes (Dr. Sarah) of Akron, three granddaughters, Emily, Aubrie and Ella Grace Krammes, sister, Liz Krammes Eynon (Harry) of Canton and honorary son, Eric Oser of Norton. Preceded in death by his parents, Don and Clara (Stacy) Krammes and brother, Thomas Krammes. Family and friends will meet on Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Donald King as celebrant. Private burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
