James E. Reno, age 83, died Friday after a long illness. He was a life resident of Canton, 1951 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and was retired from Republic Steel and Seifert Technologies. Jim was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, North Canton Council No. 3777 Knights of Columbus and the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Fetzer) Reno and brother, William Reno. Survived by three daughters, Susan (Jerry) Rush of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Barbara Reno of Clinton Township, Michigan and Pauline (Brian) Dorenkott of Hudson, son, James P. (Lynn) Reno of Massillon, six grandchildren, one great-grandson and two sisters, Kathryn (Eugene) Sicker of Canton and Margaret Weber of North Canton. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist for a Mass of Christian Burial with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint John Villa Home, Carrollton, Ohio or the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist.
