Jeffery John Parsons, loving Husband, Son, Father, Brother, Papa, Uncle and Friend passed away on February 21, 2022 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born on April 5, 1965 to Kenneth and Edith (Brown) Parsons and married Kristin Kliem on June 27, 2016 in Hocking Hills. He graduated from Louisville High School and the University of Akron. Jeff was a combat medic in the Army National Guard. He worked in law enforcement during his career including Bolivar, Hartville, and Hudson Police departments. Jeff also had many years as a reserve Deputy for the Stark County Sheriff's Office. Jeff retired as a Juvenile Parole Officer for the State of Ohio. In 2005 Jeff was Ohio Department of Youth Services Parole Officer of the Year. After retiring, Jeff worked at Meadowlake Golf Course.
Above all, Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and loved all Ohio sports teams, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan and a longtime season ticket holder. He loved the beach, Hocking Hills, hunting, his Harley, his Ohio State golf cart, and he took pride in his lawn. He was a member of the Warthogs, Police and Fire Motorcycle Club.
Jeff leaves behind his parents; Ken and Edie; his beloved wife, Kristin; his brothers Dale and Ken (Laurie); his daughter, Breanna; sons Jacob and Joshua; grandchildren, Henslie and Braylie; Mother and father in law, Lynn and Kay Roth; brother and sister in law, David and Paula Kliem; and uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind his fur buddies Woody and Bo who were his faithful companions.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to Dr. Lamarre at the Cleveland Clinic and Aultman Hospice Nurses (Heidi) for their special care. They took care of Jeff like he was family.
Jeff was strong-willed but had a kind heart and a big passion for helping others. His last gift was to help others with his donation to Lifebanc. The best way to honor Jeff would be to pay it forward, do something kind for another person today.
A Celebration of LIfe will take place at a later date.
