JEROME PATRICK BRESSANELLI

Jerome Patrick Bressanelli, 87, of North Canton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Jerome (Jerry) was born March 17, 1936, in Upper St Clair, PA to John and Ada (D'Longa) Bressanelli. He attended the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) where he was a two time All American in Soccer (1955 and 1956). In May 1958 he received the Athletic Committee Award for scholarship, athletic achievement and sportsmanship. His name is on the Varsity Walk at the Cathedral of Learning on the Pitt campus. He graduated summa cum laude in 1958, with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering.

Following graduation from Pitt, Jerry worked 25 years at Colt Industries in a variety of technical and management positions including Vice President of Colt's Crucible Stainless and Alloy division responsible for quality and technical service. In 1984, Jerry joined Canton Drop Forge as Vice President of Technical. Six months later he was made Vice President of Manufacturing and in 1990 he was named President of Canton Drop Forge. During the span of his career, he received eight patents and authored a number of technical papers.

Jerry met his beloved wife, Donette Marinelli, whom he then married on June 24, 1961, at St Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Uniontown, PA. They were married 62 years.

Jerry was a member of the Beadling Soccer Club and was inducted into the Beadling Soccer Hall of Fame. He had three priorities: faith, followed by family and finally a business career. His wife Donette would say that he had a fourth priority and that priority was "chasing a ball." First a soccer ball, then a softball and then a golf ball. Jerry was a member of the Basilica of St John the Baptist in Canton, Ohio.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ada Bressanelli and four siblings, John Bressanelli, Jr., Madeline O'Brien, James Bressanelli and Betty Migliorini. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Donette Bressanelli and his three daughters, Therese Swango, Tracy Raczak (Ron) and Tamara Bressanelli; four grandchildren, Mylauna Swango, Jessica Vrba (Justin), Jennifer Raczak (fiancée Brad) and Jeromy Raczak (Abby); and his brother, Eugene Bressanelli (Janet).
