Jerome J. Rohr, age 81, died Wednesday after a sudden illness. Born in Canton, he lived in Massillon most of his life. He was retired from Babcock & Wilcox, member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and a United States Army veteran. Preceded in death by his first wife, Margy Rohr, son-in-law, Greg Spangler and grandson, Allan Rohr. He leaves behind his second wife of 16 years, Connie Maple Rohr and blended family, children, Jamie (Sue) Rohr, Janice Spangler, Mary (Brand) Eastburn, Julie (David) Morgan, Amy (Jason) Grossman, Jason (Robyn) Rohr and Jenny Maple (Erika Grey), 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and step-brothers, Dave (Judy), Jim (Ann) and Bob (Dianne) Gresser. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
