Joanne M. Ballou

July 11, 1932 — June 14, 2021

Joanne M. Ballou, age 88, died Monday. Born in Louisville, she had lived in Canton most of her life, 1950 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, had worked at Social Security, Stark County Board of Elections and Aultman Hospital and was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist. Preceded in death by her husbands, Jacob Judy Jr. and Arthur Ballou, parents, Marlin and Frances (Osborn) Kroh and a brother, James Kroh. Survived by her daughters, Kathleen (John) Sapp of Hudson, Karen (Skip) Weisent of Canton and Amy (Richard) Garey of Bedford, sons, David (Kristen) Ballou of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Scott Ballou of Balson Spa, New York, grandchildren, Tricia (Brian), Stephen, Elizabeth, Madison, Catie and Jonathan, great-grandchildren, Matthew and Margaret "Molly", sister, Carol (Steve) Gossage of Wooster and brothers, Paul (Ellen) Kroh of Canton and Donald (Adella) Kroh of Arizona. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Father Rich Samide officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist or Crossroads Hospice.
