John Howard Indorf, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. After a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease, John is now free to make beautiful music in Heaven. Born in Massillon February 16, 1944, to Delmar and Miriam (nee Wefler) Indorf, John grew up in Massillon and Navarre, OH. He graduated from Malone College with a bachelor's degree in music, and spent his professional career in the Canton City and Fairless Local School Systems, teaching others the wonder of music. John was also a jack of all trades and was always eager to lend a helping hand. John married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne (Wiita) June 4, 1965. During their 51 wonderful years together, they shared a love of singing and spent many years with various choirs. Travel was another of their mutual passions. Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Megan Kathleen, in 1971, and his parents in 1999-2000, John leaves to cherish his memory his adoring wife Yvonne, of the home; daughters Allison (Grady) Godard, of Georgia, Dr. Alise (David) Bartley, of Canton; and son Christopher (Francesca) Indorf, of North Canton; grandchildren Nate and Andrew Godard; Elizabeth, Jacob, Joshua, and Zachary Bartley; Elena and Matthew Indorf; brothers Wayne (Diane) Indorf, of New Mexico, James (Lynne) Indorf, of Wilmot, Roger Indorf, of California; and sister Margaret (Lyle) Krabill, of Louisville. They all enjoyed his strong, thoughtful, loving and supportive presence in their lives and are so thankful for the multitude of gifts he shared. Family and friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m.-12 Noon at Zion United Church of Christ Church in North Canton followed by a celebration of John's life and his love of music at 12 Noon with Reverend Eli O. Klingensmith officiating. Donations may be made to Zion United Church of Christ Organ Fund.
