Joyce M. Kast

Joyce M. Kast, 86, died Tuesday. She was a life resident of Canton, 1952 graduate of Lehman High School, graduate of Ohio University, earned a Masters at Kent State University, taught at Minerva and North Canton Schools retiring in 1984 and then worked at the Great Trail Girl Scout Council. She was a member of Girl Scouts of U.S.A. She is survived by her nieces, Lee Ann Wheeler, Diane (James) Baker and Nadine Gearhart, nephew, William Schreffler, several great-nieces and nephews, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline (Berry) Kast and a sister, Linda Schreffler. The family thanks Kathryn Schisler and her family for their years of friendship and care. Friends may call Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home followed by a service at 10 a.m. with Reverend Bernard Christy officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio.
