June Elizabeth (Mossor) Thomas

June 24, 1930 — August 18, 2017

June Elizabeth Thomas (Mossor) passed away on August 18, 2017, in Santa Rosa California after a long illness. She was born on June 24, 1930, to Mary and Leroy Mossor in Canton Ohio. She graduated from Timken High School and earned an Associates Degree from Walsh College. She was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Church and participated in many of its clubs and activities. She raised 10 children, each of whom she loved individually and unconditionally. She moved to Santa Rosa in 1985 and, although she missed Ohio, would never consider leaving the beautiful California weather. She loved the ocean there, the bountiful wine and the Snoopy Museum. She was a great conversationalist and charmed many a stranger. At the same time, she had firmly held thoughts and opinions which she would argue and defend with great vigor. She loved to shop, enjoyed having a meal with family and considered herself a great singer. Not everyone agreed but her enthusiasm and heartfelt rendering of certain lyrics could not be denied. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Wanda and Margaret, brothers Gerry, Carl, Ralph and David, and sons Dennis and Brian. She is survived by her daughters Mary Thomas( Michael Switalski) Barbara Thomas, Nancy Thomas, Margie O'Neill (Bill), Susie Minger (Phil), Gina Thomas and Teresa Thomas and son Michael Thomas (Valery). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like thank her special friend Stanley Evans for his love and thoughtfulness, not just for her but for all of us. Services will be at the Lamiell Funeral Home on Thursday at 12 Noon. Friends may call one hour before the services. Her favorite color was pink and she loved carnations. During the service, there will be time for friends and family to share a memory or two. She had a great sense of humor so if your memory will lighten our hearts with a laugh, we would love to hear it. She will be interred immediately after the service at North Lawn Cemetery next to her son Dennis and near many of her family.
