Kathryn Lavina (Cook) Crider, 93, died July 23, at Bethany Nursing Home in Canton, OH. She was born Sept. 2, 1924 in Rockford, OH to Grant and Lena Flo Snyder Cook.
In 1948 she married William Robert Crider, a Crestline, OH native, who died in April 1994.
Surviving are two sons, John (Donna) Brentwood, TN, and Joseph (Amy) Louisville, KY; two daughters, Mary Weatherwax (Thomas), Dublin, OH, and Anna LePage (Keith), North Canton; and 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was the oldest of 12 children, surviving among them are Don (Sharon) Cook; Ben (Cathy) Cook; Robert (Cinda) Cook; Sally (John) Wannamacher; Rebecca (Daniel) Dumbauld; and Elizabeth Frushour. She was preceded in death by Grant Cook Jr., Carl Cook, Clark Cook, Mike Cook, and Rosalyn Cook.
Kathryn retired as a teacher from the Hardin Northern Schools. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University. While a student at Bowling Green, she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. For many years she was actively involved with the Kappa Phi Christian women's organization at Bowling Green State University, the Wood County Hospital Women's Guild, the United Methodist Women, and Bridge Hospice. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, OH.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, August 4 at First United Methodist Church, Bowling Green, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:30 at the church.
