Kathryn D. Ihinger

Kathryn Delores Ihinger, 89, of Canton Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 19, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born in Canton, Ohio and graduated from Timken High School. She became a Christian at a young age, faithfully attending church. Her strong faith in the Lord remained with her all her life. She served for many years at Canton Baptist Temple as a Sunday school teacher. She loved the Lord with all her heart which was evident in her loving and giving nature. Kathryn had a love for art and was very talented in drawing and painting. Throughout her life she painted many murals for her family and church. She also enjoyed reading and learning about God, health and nutrition. Kathryn had a selfless spirit and always put others first. She was a strong presence in her family's life. In 1968 she married George M. Ihinger. Kathryn and George opened their hearts and home to many family members over the years, in true Christian love. Together they raised five children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who adored her. She was a blessing to everyone and loved telling her family how special they were to her. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband George M. Ihinger, parents William H and Mary M Hysong, brothers Russell, Kenneth, John and Earnest, sisters Ruth and Rosemary, 1st husband Clyde F Plues II. She is survived by her children Clyde F and Jean Plues III, Sherrie A Charnetzky, Holly J and Daniel Blish, George M Ihinger Jr, John S Ihinger, 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, 2 step daughters, Barb Christian, and Terry Shoemaker, 2 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at Lamiell Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25th between 5pm and 7pm. Services will also be held at Lamiell Funeral Home on Friday, August 26th at 1pm.
