Kelly Charles Peters, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2022 at the age of 54.
Born on February 24, 1967 to Frederick and Nancy (Boone) Peters in Canton, OH, Kelly was a graduate of McKinley High School class of 1985. He was a veteran of the United States Army and after his discharge he continued to protect and serve the people and nation he loved in the United States Army Reserve.
A self-described "jack of all trades' Kelly worked in several industries and found his niche in low voltage electrical wiring. His work in this industry found him crawling through buildings installing the complex wiring and cable systems which modern homes, businesses, hotels, and hospitals use to operate their phones, cable, wi-fi, security and surveillance.
Kelly's interests and hobbies were diverse. He loved supporting his community with the McKinley High School Alumni and the McKinley High School football team. A true Ohioan, he was ready for any discussion of THE Ohio State football team or the The Cleveland Browns, and rarely missed any of their games. Kelly was always eager to learn about the history, the industries, arts, and recreation of the people of Ohio; faithful to point out heritage and dedication to family, friends, and community.
Bass fishing was a hobby-sport that Kelly began with his dad. They fished for pleasure, but were also able to enjoy tournaments together. He loved spending time learning about tackle and techniques, but the time on the water was a source of relaxation for him, when the burdens of life could melt away.
His family will always remember him for his love; his eagerness to offer encouragement and help whenever and wherever needed. His wit, his recall of events, his spontaneous outbreak in songs.
Preceded in death by his father, Fred, and his sister Kristen, Kelly also leaves behind:
his mother, Nancy, his brother, Colin (wife Karla), his wife, Laurie
his son, Michael (wife Tara), and grandchildren Nash and Nora
his daughter Zara (fiance Nick) and grandson Oliver
as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.
